Growing Up

I currently hate being a teenager. I'm a grown up when it's convenient for adults then a kid when it's convenient. Grow up, your not a kid the next minute, then no, your too young, your just a kid. Would they make up their minds?

And holidays. Why does no-one seem to understand that I don't want to go away all summer holidays. I want to spend time with my friends. All adults seem to want to do on holidays is sleep in and wander around the house, taking in the sights. Can't we DO something? Is that to much to ask? Or will we spend another day being lazy in a house even though we are in Queensland (with no people my age).

Every cloud has a silver lining

I discovered my camera was broken. I was not pleased. Not one bit. I smashed the scream. I was very sad. Infact i cryed. But my father is an angel. And he helped me buy a new one on Ebay. Becasue he knows that i cannot get by without my dear camera by my side. It will arrvie on tuesday. BUt for now i have my sisters

All in the name of straight teeth

I got my expander on Friday. I hurts. A lot. And I'm over it. So over it. Now I'm grumpy. Ouch Ouch Ouch. If you don't know what and expander is, it's an instrument of touchier. But it's meant to expand your jaw so that your teeth can spread out. Sounds painful? It is. My head is aching, it hurts to bite and I am dead hungry but it hurts like hell to bite. Eating is really hard cause there is about a 5mm gap between the roof of my mouth and the expander. And i have to deal with it for 6 months. I'd rather have braces.



I have home work but I've been meaning to post some more. I will.

Finally Done

I finally finished the quilt for Jane. I hope she likes/liked it. I like making quilts. But they can be quite evil. And my darling mother and I finished the flapper dresses. They were both big big big hits at the party.

How I spent my day:

Anoyyed Harriet by refussing to stay awake thismorning
Ate vegemite toast
Listened to Chris talk about Iraqu
Washed the smudged remains of yesterday's makeup off my face
Chased the hyper dog around the backyard
Played some random guitar
Wandered around
Hunted for potting mix
Got incredibly freaked out by a leaf i thought was a spider
Re-potted the cactuses
Nagged mother
Hunted under the deck for the baby pool
Attempted to screw the baby pool together
Gave up half way and sticky taped the rest
Filled the baby pool with cold water
Paddled in the baby pool
Reminised with mother about being three and the baby pool felling much bigger
BBQed some pineapple
Ate pineapple
Made a vegemite and cheese sandwich
Ate sandwich
Lay in the pool for a while.
Changed into old clothes
Drove to the bakery to pick up sister from her work
Drove to the Morrisons
Picked mullberries
Got two purple hand prints on my white shirt via Katie
Ate mullberries
Drove home
Potted around
Packed up rabbits
Drove to Cousins house
Delivered rabbits
Said teary goodbyes to rabbits
Drove home
Went through the hundreds photos from last night
Played some guitar
Finished a song
Packed up Hatti's bed
Ate an Apple
Did some pointless quizzes
Wrote this post

And that was my day.

Back from Holidays

I went to Dubbo on Friday. To visit a very good friend. With another very good friend. We caught the train. Then went bowling and to the zoo, and horse riding, and shopping and many other things. And now I have a I Love Dubbo t-shirt and many fond memories.

And photos are yet to come!

Ah ah ah ah ah. I'm a bit bored and I'm feeling particualy uncreative today. My guitar is out of key and my songs dont sound right. And I have stacks of homework I should do. And I need to finish sewing my flapper dress. And start Harriet's. And finish a Baby Blanket for Jane.

But I'm not going to do any of those things. I'm going to cook something. Cause i can!

Oh and by the way Harriet, I did have a secret! It was those two pencil rolls! Hope you like them!

I made this on Sunday. My sewing machine decided to be a pain and it ran out of blue thread half way through. The blue sun material is a favorite of mine. It's a old sarong that didn't fit me anymore. This is for a special friends birthday and I HOPE aksai (that's jumbled people!) doesn't read this...but it's pretty!







My camera decided to be really annoying and make all my pictures blurry. Oh well. And the dogs a camera hog so she popped in one of the photos.

And now I've got a baby quilt to finish for a friend's pregnant mother, a purple flapper dress and a green flapper dress to start and a secret. He he he Hatti!

10 Things You Didn't Know About Me

1. When I leave school I want to be a fashion designer, costume designer, costume coordinator, writer, singer, or shop owner. I really can't imagine myself sitting a computer all day typing things for some big company that only thinks about money. Yuck! Do what you love and love what you do. That's my motto.

2. I'm obsessive compulsive about decorating. My room is seriously over pimped. Seriously.

3. I play the oboe, which is a double reeded instrument. It looks a bit like a clarinet but doesn't sound like it. When first learning to play, I sounded like a choking duck or my favorite, a drowning cat. Now days, I'm a lot better. I really suck at scales though and I stuffed up my Grade 4 exam due to it. I passed with a C. Go me.

4. I over stress about school, and up to a point where i get head miles. Head miles is where you mind moves too fast due to lack of sleep or stress. It feels like you are going really really fast. Like someone hit fast forward. Sometimes it's a fun experience and I enjoy the rid. But sometimes it's horrible and scary.

5. As it seems, when I cram for tests, I always manage to do better than when i study. Not sure why.

6. I always give people presents that I've made them like bags and pencil rolls and canvas' with photos and art on them, cause I have no money to buy anything. The always seem to be loved though, cause they were made from the heart!

7. I borrow so many books from my school library that the Librarian knows who I am, reserves books for me and buys books especially for me. The other day she even asked me why I hadn't come the day before!

8. I read other peoples blogs so much. Too much. Some every day in fact.

9. I hide my age. All the time. It's best too. No-one takes a 13 year old seriously. They treat you as kids. First of all, in real life I don't look 13. In fact, I've had to show my student pass with my age at the movies cause they wouldn't let me buy a child ticket. I want cheap movies damn it. In the world of blogging, as soon as you say, 'Hey, my names Sophie, I'm thirteen, I really like your blog', they say stuff like, 'Oh gosh sweetie pie, so glad you enjoy my blog, but are you sure your allowed to be on this site? Can i talk to your mummy or daddy please cutie?' Okay , I may be gorgeous, but I'm not that kind of cute. Can I just have some respect?

10. My friends and family mean to world to me. I can't get by without them helping me. They have helped me through some really tough times and there are some I can never repay.

Here are a few things I've made recently...

1. Lovely bag made out of my famous 'happy fruit' material, for my friend Georgina's birthday.


2. Slightly demented Barbie fashion. I thinking about what I might do as a HSC textiles entry so i tested it out on Barbie dolls. It turned out pretty well except i cant get them off without destroying them. Therefor, it wouldn't work in real life. but I've had another idea...I'll have to test it soon...


3. Wave Paintings. Another obsession. I've done several in different colours. I added words to this one too. It's hanging on my door.

It's a little bit Spooky

Did i tell you? I'm directing a short film. We finished yesterday. Editing was fun! It's a thriller, featuring my voice as the news reporter. And being director meant that i could boss everyone around and not get in trouble.

If you want to see, 'When a Stranger Calls', its world premiere is Friday 10th of October in Balmain.

We decided to take photos of all the cast and crew for the credits. It had to be creepy. Here's mine...

Homophobia

A friend of mine anounched he was gay recently. He’s pretty awesome. Today at sport, he was going about his serious dancer ways (i.e. doing the splits and such), and group of boys from another school came over to us and asked him if he was gay. He said “Yes I am. Got a problem with it?” They then laughed and said’ “AWWWWWWH What a Poofter!” What ever that is anyway. How cruel can you get?

I am very proud to say that my school has a great acceptance to gays and lesbians. This is probably because there are quite a few who attend. I don’t understand homophobia at all. Why discriminate someone over their sexual preferences. That’s just shallow.
